Vasilikos

Diom Villas are located in one of the most privileged spots of Zakynthos, in the Santa Nikola’s Bay of Vasilikos village. A peaceful bay, with lush vegetation, a lacy, sandy coast, with shallow, crystal-clear seawater, ideal for adults and children. The green of nature, the turquoise of the sea and certainly the picturesque church of Agios Nikolaos on a rock at the edge of the coast dominate. This beautiful little church built in 1675 is on the edge of the bay and many visitors from Greece and abroad choose to hold their wedding or to baptize their children.

The beach of Agios Nikolaos is probably one of the most beautiful beaches of Vasilikos and Zakynthos in general. It is divided into two sectors, the virgin, where our villas are located, and the organized with lounge bars, facilities and watersports.
Within walking distance (200 mtrs.) our visitor will find Banana beach, which is one of the largest on the island with crystal clear water, never-ending sandy beach and lots of facilities. There are other beaches which are very close to out residences, such as «Mavratzi», «Porto Roma» and «Porto Zoro» beaches, and, of course, «Gerakas» and “Daphne” beaches with the Carretta-Carretta turtle and a breathtaking view.

Vassilikos area is renowned for the natural beauty and tranquility, a paradise for those who love the sea. The lush vegetation harmoniously combines with the sandy beaches to offer the visitors the best views in Zakynthos. Vassilikos is also a known reproduction site for the famous Caretta sea-turtle, which are under the supervision and protection of the National Marine Park of Zakynthos. While a very quiet resort, offers every convenience possible, restaurants, taverns, mini markets and shops in many spots in the area.
In Ancient Greece, this region was dedicated to the Goddess Artemis and later became a holiday place for the lords of the island, due to its beauty, thus the name “Vasiliko” which means “Royalty”.
